Hi,

My name is Justin Alvares,  I specialize in working with people who want to build muscle, strength and lose weight safely and effectively. No matter your starting point, my goal is to help you become stronger, more mobile, and more confident through intelligent, supportive coaching.  Throughout the process you will gain the necessary tools to take control over your body composition.

Training sessions are available at Sky Fitness (membership not required) in Mississauga or in the comfort of your own home in the Lorne Park area and surrounding neighbourhoods. Please note, in person sessions are subject to availability.

About Me

I grew up in Lorne Park playing baseball, hockey, skateboarding and snowboarding. I got into strength training at the age of 12 to throw a baseball faster. I quickly fell in love with strength training and not too long after, bodybuilding became my sole focus.

 

Competing in several natural bodybuilding shows I earned my “pro card” with the International Drug Free Athletics (IDFA) in late 2014. Since then my interests have matured. Focusing on health, longevity and pain free movement.

 

I began my career as a personal trainer at 19 (currently 36) and have been helping clients/friends towards their health & fitness goals since then. I’m super passionate about the opportunity to show people what they’re capable of.

 

When I’m not training I listen to podcasts focused on health, longevity, well-being and spirituality.  I LOVE coffee and I build watches at makerwatchcompany.com. If I’m not doing any of those things I’m usually on my skateboarding or walking around trying to figure what bird I’m hearing.

I came to Justin with zero experience in strength training—I had never even stepped into a gym before and always felt uncomfortable in that environment. After struggling to lose weight a year postpartum, I finally decided to reach out for his help.

I had a great experience with Justin as my trainer. He is very punctual and always has a smile on his face and a positive attitude, creating a non judgemental atmosphere for his clients. This was really helpful for me as someone who was just starting to get into weight training at the time and felt a little bit unsure and intimidated in the gym. His training is personalized towards the client. He helped me set specific personalized goals and motivated me to reach them. He pushes you to reach your potential, work hard and step outside of your comfort zone while still making sure you are working out in a safe manner with good form and technique in order to ensure you are achieving the best results and not doing anything that could harm or injure yourself. He pushed me to do my best and work my hardest and get over the mental block of telling myself “I can’t do it.” He saw my potential and motivated me to reach it without going overboard or pushing me to over exert myself. He was also extremely patient and helped me create a solid routine to help me get used to a wide range of movements and exercises that work all different kinds of muscle groups to give a well rounded full body workout. Overall my experience with Justin was really positive and he helped to create a pleasant environment for me to get more comfortable in the gym and learn more about fitness. I strongly recommend you train with Justin.
